World Series — Dodgers vs Blue Jays - pumpkin - 10-24-2025
Hello guys!
It's me, Pumpkin! I'm a moderator here at Sheeple Gateway! I don't post a whole lot, but I do check out the forum on occasion. We're still planning to do our launch a week from today on Halloween! Some invitations have been sent out, and others we're holding off on. We have a decent group, and I think it's good enough for a start.
The World Series starts on a few hours, Dodgers vs Blue Jays! First pitch is 8pm EST. I noticed a posts about team jerseys and video games. This thread woulda be a great place to introduce yourself. It's not required, but this is a social forum and it would score some points. There's a lot of posts which have been moved to The Special Abode sub forum. I noticed a couple of people have been using that place, and it's great. We might start using it more for posts that no one responds to, especially if the front page gets flooded with "post and run" threads. You can respond to your own posts, keep in mind. It's nice to build on an idea. You can also bump threads.
We've had talks about creating generic avatars for members who haven't uploaded member pictures. We still need to mess around with plug-ins and experiment, but things are coming along.
The Dodgers are in Toronto tonight. We have a few sports fans here. It would be great to hear your take on the Series. What team do you root for? What baseball memories do you have? Others have posted about politics. We don't want this front page to get too deep into it, but there's a few issues worth talking about. In the Mariners/ Blue Jays ALCS, an ad ran about tariffs sponsored by Ontario. It featured a speech from Ronald Reagan. If we can be civil about political discussion, we can share some opinions here. Otherwise, we're keeping our political discourse at The Special Abode! Glad to see ya' guys have joined! I think we're gonna have a great time.

The governor of California and the premier of Ontario have a friendly wager going on. If the Dodgers win the World Series, Doug Ford must send Gavin Newsom a tin can of Canada's maple syrup. If the Blue Jays win, Gavin Newsom must send Doug Ford a bottle of California wine.
Toronto won game 1. They blew the game open in the 6th inning with 9 runs.

That was such a long, long game! Freddy Freeman finally ended it in the bottom of the 18th with a home run! It was nice to see Clayton Kershaw help the Dodgers get out of a bases loaded jam. This will be his last year playing, and it's nice to contribute to a critical victory.
