Aion 2 Mirror of Scarlet Desire Boss Guide for Beginners - MarZan - 05-23-2026 The Mirror of Scarlet Desire is one of the more mechanic-heavy Transcendence dungeons in Aion 2, and for newer players it can feel overwhelming at first. The dungeon is not just about damage output. Most wipes happen because players miss mechanics, panic during puzzle phases, or fail to coordinate quickly enough with the party. Before entering, make sure your character meets the recommended item level of 3,200 or higher. The dungeon contains three main bosses: Rotar, Robstino, and Kromede’s Desolation. Each fight focuses on a different type of mechanic, so learning the patterns matters more than simply gearing up. Here is a beginner-friendly breakdown of every major mechanic and how to handle them smoothly. Preparing Before the Dungeon A few simple preparations make the dungeon much easier:
Boss 1: Rotar Rotar is essentially a reaction test. The boss constantly forces players to identify shapes, move quickly, and destroy the correct targets. For beginners, this is usually the first major wall in the dungeon. Floor Shape Mechanic During the fight, a geometric symbol appears beneath your character. You must immediately locate the matching symbol on the floor around the arena and stand on it. If you choose the wrong shape or react too slowly, you will usually die instantly. The important part is staying calm. Many players panic and run randomly. Instead:
Lantern Phase After the floor mechanic, lanterns appear around the arena. Each player must destroy the lantern matching their assigned symbol. If you attack the wrong one, the party can fail the mechanic. The most important rule here is simple: Purple lanterns always take priority. When a purple lantern appears, the entire party should immediately switch targets and destroy it before anything else. Ignore the Tethers Sometimes a line or tether connects players together. New players often assume this is the main mechanic and start chasing each other around the arena. Do not do this. The tether is mostly a distraction. Focus on your assigned shape and lantern responsibilities instead. Garden Trash Area Between the first and second bosses is a garden section filled with enemy groups and dangerous floor attacks. This area is straightforward, but careless players often waste revives here. Keep moving while fighting and avoid standing inside circular floor markers. The damage adds up quickly, especially if multiple attacks overlap. Tanks should gather enemies carefully, while ranged players stay spread out to avoid unnecessary damage stacking. Boss 2: Robstino Robstino is all about environmental control. The main mechanic revolves around flowers that spawn throughout the arena. If players ignore them, the boss eventually triggers a huge explosion capable of wiping the entire party. Exploding Flowers Whenever flowers appear, players must step on them to remove them safely. Think of it as defusing bombs across the arena. The process is simple:
Red AoE Circles Robstino constantly places red danger zones on the floor. Do not linger after clearing flowers. Many players successfully remove the flower but die because they stay too long inside the AoE. Movement discipline is everything in this fight. Eye Marker Mechanic Sometimes an eye icon appears above a player’s head. This means the boss is targeting that player specifically. If you receive the marker:
Boss 3: Kromede’s Desolation Kromede’s Desolation is the real challenge of the dungeon. This fight combines puzzle mechanics, timing checks, and coordination requirements. For most beginner groups, this is where progression stops until everyone understands the mirror system. Mirror Reflection Mechanic Mirrors appear around the arena with reflected symbols or skill prompts inside them. To clear the mechanic:
Wait for the Spin to Stop One of the easiest beginner mistakes is entering the mirror too early. If the mirror circle is spinning, do not stand inside it yet. While spinning:
