Some people simply don't behave, though!  And?  In today's World, these "people" aren't "people" at all!  They're BOTS!  So we can't have a few fuckers destroy a good thing for everyone else!

As for everybody else, we're gonna have a good time!  There's a new subforum called The Special Abode.  I believe in free speech, and I believe in common decency.  I will try not to censor anyone here, but I can't let a small handful ruin anything for everyone else.  I banned my first user today for posting 28 threads in 6 hours.  That's just crazy, but instead of deleting all the contents, I moved it.

I come from a social forum where they were lax on what you could talk about.  Somehow, the Flat Earth people touched a nerve and they were banned from the forum.  I will tolerate a lot of stuff, Flat Earth material included, but you have "read the room" and realize that it's not all about you.  It's about us, the Sheeple ...

Second of all, especially for the Noobs...

We welcome and love your expression!  Most people, even if they've been with us a while, don't create more than 3 new threads a day.  If you're new, and you post a lot, you might find your stuff in The Special Abode.  It's a subforum, and you can still see your stuff there.  We've only banned one user so far for posting 28 threads in his first six hours.  That was wild, but we didn't delete his stuff.  It's in The Special Abode.

Another member was banned tonight, and a new subforum was created.

In short, a new member posted a couple of threads which advocated illegal activity.  The new subforum is called the Moderators' Lounge.  We have not deleted any threads yet.  Instead, if anyone's posted excessively, we've moved it to the Special Abode.  This time, we decided not to allow the threads to remain in sight of the regular public.  The threads have been moved to the Moderators' Lounge where the "higher ups" can discuss the implications of what people are involved in.  You can click here to see a copy of what has been posted.  Contact information has been blotted out.  Here's what I wrote to the other mods in the new Lounge subforum:

Nobody wants to be an asshole, but also, nobody wants to be trampled by strange people.  Worse yet, nobody wants to be trampled by bots.


Our first member was banned for posting 28 threads in his first 6 hours.  That was a no brainer.  We have other members who've joined, and they seem to like to market things.  Mainly, they've marketed sports attire and video game coins.  It seems harmless enough, and we're trying to stay with the "free speech thing" as much as possible.  With that said, nobody (to the best of my knowledge) is selling cocaine.  Nobody (to the best of my knowledge) is trafficking humans for sex or labor.  No child has been sold to a sweat shop.  That would be bad, and that would not be allowable.

Today, we banned our second member.  He was blatantly selling cloned ATM cards.  Like I said, we don't sell cocaine, quaaludes, or heroine.  We stretch the free speech thing much as possible, but we're still grounded in common sense.

The Special Abode was created for members who got wild about posting.  No threads have been deleted yet no matter how much they look like span to the average person.  This subforum here is created for Sheeple Gateway mods.  If something is in poor taste or seems like spam, we put it at the Special Abode.  If something seems fishy in the criminal or illegal category, we are putting it here.  We can have discussions about these threads.  We don't want ordinary members clicking on anything which will take them into a black market Rabbit Hole.

Also, why not have some fun?  Mods can come here and talk about anything!  It doesn't have to center around people or bots who don't behave.  We have a place here we can get away to.  Hopefully, it's fun.  Hopefully, we don't wind up pulling our own hair out.

Sheeple & Others,

The great thing about these social forums is that we get to decide what they are.  There is no single individual deciding this is a place where people share music, and we only discuss music.  Or this is a place where people sell sports jerseys, video game tokens, or anything else.  Or this is a place where people come to talk politics.  Or this is a place where people share their favorite kitten memes.

This place is whatever we need it to be, and that's the bottom line.

There's another great thing about these social forums.  We get to decide what they're NOT.  This place will not be a forum where Noobs show up, dump a few threads onto the front page, then jet off without explanation.  The front page is designed to be more social.  If you sign up and post ONE new thread, we're okay with it.  Six?  Fourteen?  Twenty-eight?  That's a bit much.

We created a special subforum for members who have abnormal posting patterns.  This includes people who have strong political or religious beliefs.  This includes people who think we'll be invaded by alien Sasquatches in the next few years, so we better start prepping now.  This includes Flat Earthers who want to discuss their worldview all day in an endless thread.  And it includes people who've come here to market something, and they're posting more threads than they are posting replies to our social threads having to do with sports, music, current events, or kitten memes.
