History is repeating itself in Ferguson.  Cops, nowadays, seem to have a license to kill.  We see it over and over:  Youngster shot by officer, an shoddy so-called investigation, then clemency.  This time in Ferguson to add insult to injury, armed militia was caught on film setting a car on fire in front of an auto parts store to make it look a little bit more like local minorities were way beyond control.  I wasn't born yet in 1970 when Ohio national guard fired on Vietnam war protesters killing four of them.

Jeffrey Glenn Miller; age 20; 265 ft (81 m) shot through the mouth; killed instantly

Allison B. Krause; age 19; 343 ft (105 m) fatal left chest wound; died later that day
William Knox Schroeder; age 19; 382 ft (116 m) fatal chest wound; died almost an hour later in a hospital while undergoing surgery
Sandra Lee Scheuer; age 20; 390 ft (120 m) fatal neck wound; died a few minutes later from loss of blood

 

This event will change our country.  Today, a few St Louis Rams players marched out during pre-game introductions with their hands raised in symbolic solidarity with the demonstrators locally and across the country.  In 1970, the Kent State shootings stirred the pot:

In 1970, rock 'n' roll was in its infancy and musicians were less inclined to pay attention to "the Man", some CEO suit sitting pretty in a posh highrise office in Los Angeles or New York.  1970 was the year after Woodstock, the "summer of love".  It wasn't until the mid-seventies that CBS, ABC, Warner Bros and a few others realized that big money could be made from rock music.  San Francisco acid rock bands like Jefferson Airplane and Journey were "cleaned up" to appeal to a wider, more commercial base.  The result was user-friendly polished ambiguous bubble gum pop that didn't challenge teens to butt heads with the establishment as much.  I wonder about today's music because of the massive filters put on it.  Sometimes I think that these CT forums are the best chance we have to truly tell it from our point of view.  I don't know that CSN&Y's "Ohio" would've made it to a major label in today's world.  And Chrissie Hynde, Mark Mothersbaugh and Jerry Casale?  Their bands would've never launched.  They are the 70s equivalent of today's truther and Ferguson protester.  How can we allow this?  I'm sure Big Brother would've shut these guys down before they could get out of the gates.  They'd be tar-and-feathered as nuts then forcibly put on meds.  This, to me, is not a race issue at its core though many people make it out to be that way.  It's an AUTHORITY issue.  It's a fascist issue.  It's an oligarchy issue.

New Year's Eve, 2014

I got me 6 hrs of 2014 left here on the West Coast of the United States of America.  First, I'd like to thank UkShep, SarahRT, Cinnamon, Rabid Wolf (did I leave anyone out?) for giving me temporary status as "Super DJ"!!!  I have graduated from a private college that cost as much (roughly) as Harvard... but I am unemployed at this point.  Go figure, right?!  Damn Illuminati!! !  Otherwise, I'd immediately donate a kidney and a half million dollars for the honor!!  Second, HAPPY NEW YEAR to UkShep & those in Europe.  One of my fantasies in life is to escape this utopia-turned-dystopia in America and settle where my ancestors came from, possibly in Ireland!!!!!

I am buzzed, btw, working on a substantial drunk! !!
