You are NOT going to believe this game!
This entire series between Vegas and Carolina has been absolutely unreal! Game 1 was a wild, back-and-forth war. Then Game 2? Total heartbreak. The Golden Knights blew a late two-goal lead and dropped it in overtime. But holy hell, Game 3 was one for the absolute history books!
After a completely scoreless first period, Vegas exploded for four goals in the second! Dude, Mitch Marner literally took over and scored a natural hat trick in six minutes and 10 seconds! It's the fastest hat trick in Stanley Cup Final history! And get this. That doesn’t even count two more goals by Mark Stone and Jack Eichel that got completely wiped off the board after replay reviews. They were utterly dominant.
So, Vegas has it completely in the bag, right? NOPE!
Carolina pulls Frederik Andersen, puts in Brandon Bussi, and comes storming back in the third! Jordan Martinook, Taylor Hall, and Jordan Staal score three goals in a mind-blowing 39-second span! Then, with less than two minutes left in regulation, Andrei Svechnikov strikes on the power play with an empty net behind him to tie the damn game!
We go to double overtime. Shea Theodore fires a low slap shot wide right. It kicks off the end boards, bounces back, hits Brandon Bussi's skate, and ricochets straight into the net! Vegas wins it 5-4! It was literally the second time in a single game that Carolina scored on their own net. You can't make this stuff up!
No team in 108 Stanley Cup Finals games had ever lost after leading by 4-plus goals in the third period. Vegas almost broke history the wrong way, but instead take the 2-1 series lead! What a time to be alive! ⚔️
