The Colts are having a great year. Their offense is historically efficient midway through the season, but their pass defense was bad. They picked up CB Sauce Gardner at the trade deadline.
The Cowboys have also been playing good offense, but it's not consistent. Their defense sucks! There's no way to say it nicely. As a Cowboys fan, it's humiliating to watch opposing running backs run between the tackles untouched until they're past the line of scrimage. When they traded Micah Parsons away, they got DT Kenny Clark and a couple of future first rounders. At the deadline, they traded a 1st & a 2nd & DT Mazi Smith for DT Quinnen Williams. He's been a pro bowler the past few years. In theory and on paper, this should absolutely solve the problem in the middle of the defensive line. Kenny Clark and Quinnen Williams are now one of the top pairs of DTs in the game. On paper, of course, but now they have to prove themselves to the world. It would be nice if it happens.
This video talks about the Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams trades. The Jets had a couple of studs, but it's a dysfunctional organization in New York. The Jets drafted Sam Darnold number three overall and he floundered in the Big Apple. He did great in Minnesota, and he ain't doing too shabby in Seattle. Some players find new life when they're traded from bad teams. We'll keep an eye on Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams to see how they do.
