Hello Guys !!!
Happy Thanksgiving! I wanted to say that before anything else!
My name is Pumpkin, and I was a moderator at Maniac Nebula long ago. When this place launched, I became a moderator here. It's difficult, though, to have the same relations with members once you become a moderator. You have to make decisions which people might not be happy with. Most the time, it's a good job, though.
My Pumpkin persona will stay, and I will continue to moderate. However, I like to be social. Sheeple Gateway allows sock accounts so long as it's not abused. Necro Bot and Robo Jock are shared by a few members. Now, I'm creating Tom Turkey to celebrate Thanksgiving, and to be social in a different way than I've been. I miss being one of the "ordinary guys" and I'm not sure if it'll happen at this site.
We don't have enough daily traffic to have regular ongoing conversations, but that might change in the future. We have our days when a few of us are online at the same time, and we talk to each other, but that's every blue moon. In these early days of our launch, we have to coordinate. We planned something this past Halloween, and the next date we'll plan a get together will be New Year's Eve. We can celebrate the coming of 2026 together. Making it'll be a rockin' year! I hope to see you guys there! I don't know how often I'll use Tom Turkey to speak after today, but I've enjoyed what we've had so far. There's been talks of launching other sites, but that's in the planning stages. I know Maniac Nebula might return a social forum instead of merely being a blog. I know there's a new site where former members of Above Top Secret are congregating to, but I haven't looked it up. When Christmas rolls around, I might launch another member name. It might be Elf, or something else. I'm going to keep having fun as much as possible, though.
Thanksgiving is a great time of year! It's the beginning of the holiday season. The feel is different in modern times than when I was a child, but it still matters to me. When I was young, it was way more about families physically getting together. We used to travel to my grandmother's house every year in a large group. I loved to see my cousins. My aunts and uncles treated me well. I used to love to run around and play. My grandmother had lawn with rigid grass, and when you fell down, it would give you small paper cuts. I didn't care! I used to play wiffle ball with my cousins, and it was the time of my life! We would eat Thanksgiving dinner outside on the patio. The grownups would eat at one table, and the kids would eat at another. Years went by, I remember how happy I was to eat at the adult table for the first time! We had young nieces and nephews, and they became the ones running around and then eating at the kids table. I loved Thanksgiving, though, and now it's changed a bit. I watch football all day. I still eat turkey, but it's not the same as years ago. I think about Black Friday tomorrow, and Black Friday wasn't a "thing" when I was a kid. Things have changed, but I roll with the punches.
Christmas will be coming up. After that, the New Year. I wish you the best! Happy Holidays! I hope to talk to some of you on New Year's Eve! I'll be having champagne, and maybe some whiskey. I don't drive on that day anymore. It's just too crazy out there, but I will be celebrating ...
