The NBA is a total shit show this year. It started off with a scandal involving Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers, then moved on to the FBI arresting people for illegal gambling. Now, the majority owner of the Phoenix Suns is being charged with fraud by minority stakeholders. That's just the shady stuff! Then there's incompetent stuff. More and more, GMs are making stupid trades which mortgage teams' futures for years to come. The Phoenix Suns happen to be one of these teams. GMs are pushing all their chips to the center of the table in "win now" moves. They are betting on championships that never happen in order to acquire star players. Besides the Suns, the Clippers, Mavericks, and Magic have little control over future 1st & 2nd rounders. The Clippers traded away SGA to OKC and he went on to become MVP. They also traded away multiple 1st rounders in order to get Paul George, who is no longer with the team. The Pelicans traded next year's 1st rounder to move up ten spots from pick #23 to get Derik Queen. Because of all these desperate moves, the OKC Thunder and Atlanta Hawks could have top 5 lottery picks. For OKC, it's a case of the rich getting richer. Some people gamble and win, while others gamble and are left with years of agony ...
