Steelers just got a massive boost this season without lifting a finger
As the Pittsburgh Steelers rested during their bye week, they achieved favorable results. They didn't have to lift a finger, and their lead within the AFC North grew. It was a weekend of interesting outcomes as the NFL tries to solve which teams are contenders and which are pretenders. The Steelers are leaning towards becoming contenders this season with a 3-1 record.
Nothing has been pretty for Pittsburgh during its first four games of action, but they have found ways to win. Teams around the league wish they possessed that trait, especially with several top contenders leading the standings while many other clubs remain stuck in a crowded field. That congestion will begin to clear up in the coming weeks, but for now, the picture remains murky.

Hey, great point about the Steelers getting a nice boost over the bye. That 3-1 record is looking better and better, especially with all the chaos happening elsewhere in the division.

It feels like the entire AFC North is in flux. The Bengals just traded for Joe Flacco and are making him the starter this week which is wild. In Baltimore, things look rough.  The Ravens are in trouble because their defense is bad, they only have a single win, and Lamar Jackson is banged up.  And in Cleveland, the Browns are now starting Dillon Gabriel but a lot of fans can't wait to see what Shedeur Sanders has.  When you step back and look at all this, it's easy to say the AFC North is wide open.  Looking at the bigger picture, you have to add that Aaron Rodgers is an older quarterback, but he's playing with spunk.  It's an interesting year, but the Steelers find ways to win, even when it's not pretty, and that could help them win this messy division.
